So the next stop on our trip down the road to socialism and fascism is universal health care.

"There are 47 million uninsured people!" the liberals wail. Ok, let's break that number down:
9.5 mil - not US citizens
17 mil - household income > $50K a year
18 mil - aged 18-34, in good health and/or chose not to get insurance
Only 30% who lost insurance stayed that way for > 12 months. Fifty % got their insurance back in about 4 months.

"Everyone must have top flight care!" Obama decrees. In his world of lollypops and rainbows there are trees of money, and you can just go pick a few bushels whenever you need to pay for a system that will dwarf even Welfare, Social Security, and Medicaid in debt. Oh, wait, we're already doing that! It's called printing money. Only problem is, it leads to inflation. And all our creditors (think China) see we only have monopoly money to pay them back. That's already going so well, what with China selling out assets and buying our commodities.

"We need integrated medical records!" liberal loons howl. Excellent idea! Implementing the system will only cost $1.8 trillion. And once it's in place, the gov't has access to all your previously protected medical records. That means, once universal health care is in place, they can sort you into a category that will dictate what treatments, if any, you get, how long and how often you'll get them, and what quality care you'll get.

"Even the AMA supports it!" politician weasels cry. Except that the SEIU (U is for union, kids!) organized that meeting. Also, once we have universal health care, they can do what they do in the UK: after they meet their quota of clients, they go on vacation! Ever wonder why Brits have scraggly teeth? They have to go to Hungary to get dentistry, because there are too few dentists in the UK who haven't met their quota. And we all know Hungarians aren't first in the world of dentistry.

"Access for all!" libs yowl. Sure, the DMV, post office, and health department have access for all too. Do you like the service you get at those places? That's what gov't-run organizations are like. Why work hard and improve to attract clients if your paycheck doesn't depend on it? Heck, the fewer clients you get, the less you have to work. Believe me, I've worked for the gov't. I know how they roll.

"We have to help the poor!" Hollywood bawls. Well, they're doing a good job. Just recently Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet bailed out a 97 year old British woman who is dying because she can't afford medical care. But wait, I thought the UK had universal care? They do! And in their infallible wisdom they decided that she's too old to deserve it. See, what care you get is based on how valuable they think you are. Kidneys fail and you're over 60? You're SOL. If you're old, better get your ticket to Heaven ready, 'cause you'll be needing it soon! If you are younger, better hope your disease is slow, 'cause you'll have to wait 6 months (that's in Canada) for an appointment.

The bottom line is this, as the British and other universal care countries know: It's not about PROVIDING care, it's about RATIONING it. They're not giving everyone quality care, they're giving everyone extremely poor care.

Thus far, the rest of the world has come to the US when it needed some major medical care. Or they bought US drugs, which are top of the line. What will happen when we become like them? And where will we go for care? Hungary is a little far for that biannual dental exam.
